20 girls in Year 11 have recently participated in the Senior Maths Challenge.
This was the first year they have participated in this level of the UKMT challenges. As they were the youngest pupils taking part, it was definitely a challenge!
The Maths Challenge had a very different format to the previous UKMT’s they have taken part in. All questions had the possibility of losing marks if the answer was given incorrectly. This discouraged the pupils from guessing and added another layer of competition. There was a variety of questions from geometry in triangles to radii of circles on a graph. It was a great experience for the girls and a fun opportunity to stretch their abilities.
