For the last House Activity Day of the academic year, we challenged the pupils to engage their creativity! The morning saw workshops across four creative arts, Music led a workshop on body percussion, Dance used basketballs and ‘High School Musical’ as an inspiration for creating a dance, Drama looked at creating physical theatre postcards and Art looked at how to use simple materials to create holiday-inspired masks, puppets and objects.
All these wild and wacky elements were then brought together in the afternoon for a Creative Challenge. House groups would have to find a way to creatively combine all those different workshop elements into a piece to share to the rest of their Year Group. Each House tackled each task differently, we saw adverts and dance numbers, elements of singing and some slightly surreal performances! However, every single piece was suffused with the energy, enthusiasm, and engagement that House Challenges bring!
We are looking forward to channelling some of that energy when we return in September and start tackling the House Dance!
