Badminton School in Bristol is an outstanding location in which to run courses in languages, the arts, sports and more. Close to the centre of the city, but set apart from it in tranquil private surroundings, the scene is set for everything from sporting summer camps to photography courses on winter weekends.
We have facilities available to hire for:
At the centre of Badminton School is Northcote House, a Grade-II listed stately home with stunning gardens. Classrooms of differing sizes can be used as training and seminar rooms for a range of functions.
The House’s spacious 200-seater Dining Room can be included in larger bookings.
This lovely light-and-airy space is ideal for art classes and courses. It features a generous amount of white wall space for display purposes, with easels and plinths also available for art and sculptural works.
Badminton School has an extensive range of top-class indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a 25m indoor pool, full-size Astro hockey pitch, tennis and netball courts, and impressive new Sports Centre.
(For more details, take a look at our dedicated page about our sports facilities.)
Combined with the Schools Boarding accommodation, these amenities make Badminton School the ideal base for a residential sports camp.
A series of small, sound-proof practice rooms all equipped with pianos are available on the ground floor of the Tippett Music Centre. They are an ideal space for individual or small ensemble rehearsals, or for one-to-one or group teaching.
Upstairs is a larger performance space with excellent acoustics. This is often used by chamber music groups. It also has the scope to accommodate a seated audience of around 30 people, and therefore works equally well for musical performances.
The School has three Boarding Houses available to let out during the longer holidays.
Bartlett House: There are 36 beds available in this House. Rooms are typically of four beds and the House also has two Common Rooms.
Sanderson House: With each bedroom accommodating three or four pupils, this Boarding House holds 91 pupils. Each room has bunkbeds with desks underneath. There are communal showers, toilets and kitchenettes on each floor. With fantastic views over Bristol from the communal areas, this Boarding House has a lovely, homely feel to it.
Sixth Form Centre: This Boarding House comprises single and double-occupancy rooms, with a maximum capacity of 95 beds. It is set over two floors, with shared amenities on each floor including ‘Brew Rooms’ for those breakfast and hot-drink essentials! This Boarding House also has a lovely spacious Common Room that looks out over our small orchard.
