Badminton School

International Pupils

Badminton has a diverse and global community of girls from almost 20 different countries. We have a long history of welcoming overseas boarders and as a School we have a strong European and international outlook. One of the many strengths of the small scale here at Badminton is that the girls really do know each other well and there is seamless interaction between boarding and day.

We accept boarders from age 8 (Year 4) in our Prep School and see them right through their education into our Senior School and Sixth Form. Our campus sits in a quiet suburb of Bristol, Westbury-on-Trym, and at weekends pupils can enjoy taking part in activities around the city.  We are proud of living and working in one of the most culturally vibrant cities in Europe - Bristol!

Badminton is a boarding school, but over half the pupils are day girls. This mixture works brilliantly. Day girls like the way the school remains active at evenings and weekends and many day girls choose to take advantage of a free night in the boarding house, often to coincide with a friend's birthday.  Whilst boarding encourages independence that living away from home promotes, there is a real comfort that comes from being with a community of friends.

Admissions Process

Badminton is a competitive school, and girls must meet a required academic standard. We always recommend visiting the school, which you can do as part of an open day or a private visit.

Once you have decided to apply for Badminton School, please complete the registration form:

Overseas Boarder Registration Form

You will need to work with one of our partner agents to arrange in-country assessment if you are not able to travel to Badminton. The admissions team will be able to help you find an agent in-country.

Overseas applicants will be invited to sit Badminton assessment exams at several selected test centres around the world. If overseas candidates have met the initial assessment criteria, they will be invited for an interview with a senior member of staff via video conference.
