Badminton School Korea

Since its inception in 1858, Badminton School has stood out for its internationalism; our first boarder arriving from the British colony of Demerara in 1858. 166 years later, Badminton still prides itself on its global outlook, enjoying an international reputation and welcoming boarders from over 35 nationalities.

‘Badminton School International Ltd’ was created in 2019 to explore opportunities to introduce Badminton to a wider cohort of students by partnering with carefully selected educational providers overseas. In March 2024, the Board of Governors signed a licence agreement with Inc. Corp, to open Badminton School Korea. With its first campus located in Siheung, South Korea, Badminton School Korea is due to open in August 2024 and is the first international school to join the Badminton family.

Members of Badminton’s Executive Leadership Team, Heidi Welch (Head of Prep School) and Stuart Dalley (Senior Deputy Head) visited Korea in Spring 2024 to tour the new school site. Mrs Welch will remain involved with Badminton School Korea, serving as a Governor.
