The day was an incredible experience, full of fun and relaxation after our exams. We were put into groups with a range of peers, who we would not get to interact with otherwise, so we had a chance to meet and make new friends.
The challenge was to create a business idea that would solve a problem, and the winner would get to go to the national finals. We found our problem and solution, created a marketing campaign, and presented our business to the Year Group. There were a range of ideas: from clip-on umbrellas to revision websites and sustainable soap. All the presentations were excellent, and we were able to practise speaking in front of a more relaxed audience.
The most interesting part for me was creating the logo and brand because it made the experience more realistic and enjoyable. We also learnt how a business should be run on passion to succeed. I cannot wait for our team, the Umbrellamas, to continue to the national finals and I hope our llamas will go far in the competition!
