Our Parents Association, "Involved", has generously helped to raise money to equip the music recording studio with the latest digital sound recording equipment. Multi-track and sequencing tools will now provide pupils with the opportunity to explore a wide range of recording and sound-mixing techniques, aided with a variety of high quality microphones. The portable SD Recorder was used to great effect in the latest live recordings of GCSE and A Level compositions and Mr Ransom has recently started a recording club providing all girls in the Senior School with opportunities to investigate music software including Logic and Sibelius. A number of Year 9 girls have used these skills to great effect in their background music composition for the recent drama production.
