On Wednesday 16th January, two teams of girls from Year 10 and Year 11 competed in Bristol’s Key Stage 4 round of the Centre Parcs Badminton England Schools' Competition at St. Bede’s Catholic College in Lawrence Weston. Once again both teams were extremely successful!
There were 5 teams competing in this round and our B Team took us on a roller coaster ride with some thrilling wins against some strong teams from all over Bristol. The girls eventually finished 3rd, having tied on points with Redland Green School but having scored a couple fewer points overall.
Our A Team emulated their counterparts in the Key Stage 3 team, winning the round by a comfortable margin! The girls won 5 out of their six games, compared to their nearest rivals – Redland Green – who were only able to win 3 out of their six games.
Both teams have shown an outstanding amount of commitment since the beginning of the season in the autumn, but unfortunately only one team can progress to the county final of the competition, so the A Team will be representing Badminton at the county finals on the 24th of January.
