January 11th 2013

The French classes have been celebrating the beginning of January with a Galette des Rois (a cake of the Kings). The cake, made of puff pastry and frangipan, is traditionally eaten from the Epiphany on the 6th January, for a couple of weeks and contains a small porceline figure. Whoever finds the figure in their slice is the King for the day and gets to wear the crown! To prevent the piece being given to a particular person, the youngest member of the group has to sit under the table and instruct who should get the next slice! Our King for the day was Phoebe.
