Badminton School pupils are celebrating another set of excellent GCSE results with an impressive 41% of all grades at 9 – the highest level. To top off another stellar year, over 40% of all girls achieved straight 9-7 and almost a third of the Year Group is celebrating achieving straight 9-8, whilst every girl sitting GCSE Further Maths achieved the top grades.
This is a Year Group that have led the way outside the classroom as much as in it and have never shied away from taking on new challenges. Orla from Bristol is celebrating her GCSE results and is now ready to start her A Levels in Economics, Physics and Maths. At the same time as studying for her GCSEs, Orla gained a promotion to Sergeant in the Air Cadets and has led the way by achieving her blue flying wings; that before she can even drive! Meanwhile Scarlett from Bristol has won a place at the National Youth Theatre along with her straight 9-7 GCSE grades.
The talented Year 11 cohort have also been able to innovate outside the classroom. Scarlett, Amelia, Riana, Nimesha, Emma and Katie from Bristol and Jenny from Hong Kong are celebrating not just fantastic results but, whilst studying for their GCSEs, these talented girls worked on an article on superconductors which was published by Physics Education; this underlined the willingness of these girls to explore their subjects beyond the confines of the classroom.
Mrs Tear, Headmistress commented: “This has been a really adventurous Year Group who have seized every opportunity and encouraged us to enable their explorations be it into GCSE Dance outside of the curriculum or allowing younger students to take centre stage in our science outreach; they have really shaped the future pathways for those that follow. My thanks to all of them and to the amazing team of staff at Badminton who feed their enthusiasm.”
