On Friday 1st February, the Art Department opened their doors for The Vintage Exhibition. The exhibition was a showcase of all the work produced by the year 7, 8, 9 and 10s over the last term and a half. When entering the Gallery, visitors were greeted by human manikins and a silent Charlie Chaplin film which influenced work by year 7. Everything from supporting drawings to final pieces were on display. Included in the exhibition was a range of metal shoes, ceramic handbags, bunting and a set of ‘Peter and Jane’ poster size paintings. Girls changed into vintage outfits from the costume cupboard or wore dresses they had found or made. Many parents, pupils and staff attended and enjoyed the art work, and also sat in the café area to relax with tea and homemade cakes. It turned out to be a rather nostalgic trip down memory lane!
