Alexandra races in the Three Counties Championships

Year 8 Alexandra was chosen to represent her pony club at Cheltenham races in the Three Counties Championships during the school holidays. She has had to undergo vigorous Jockey training during the last few months, both for her and her pony Zig Zag in preparation for the race on 9th April. Alexandra did incredibly well coming a very credible 6th out of 19 ponies in her race on the day in the 128cm open. Competition was tough as Alexandra was up against national level racing ponies, whereas this was her and her pony’s first official race. The main part of the training involves riding with very short stirrups and riding high out of the saddle throughout, which is extremely strenuous! Well done Alexandra.
