Badminton pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 recently took part in the inaugural Governors Challenge Award Essay Competition. This involved choosing a topic that interested them, carry out self-directed research and use their creative scope to write the essay. The finalists then had the opportunity to present their essay to the School Governors in person, who picked their winner from each year group. The worthy winners were Florence in Year 7, Aliza in Year 8 and Rosa in Year 9.

Apart from a Certificate and gift voucher, the prize consisted of being able to record a video about the experience to be shared on Social Media. This has been a fantastic opportunity for each pupil who entered and a great experience for the winners. We congratulate them all, not just for the effort they all clearly put in but also for their creativity and willingness to put themselves out of their comfort zone.
