Last Saturday our family went to Berrow Beach to volunteer to collect rubbish, and had to collect everything along 100 meters from where we started. There was a variety of different things that we collected such as plastic caps, old beach toys, bags and lots more. A large portion of the rubbish was plastic, mostly plastic toys and poo bags!
This beach clean-up was organised by Mindful Chef and the Marine Conservation Society, and they gave us a gift box and some eco products including a bamboo toothbrush as a thank you!
By the end of the clean-up we had collected two bags full of rubbish. Overall, this clean-up was very rewarding because it helped us understand why we need to stop littering and the long lasting impacts of plastic on the environment.
