Recently, Jin Ju, Yvonne, Coco and Natalie traveled to Exeter to compete in the Year 10 Team Maths South West Final. The event took place at the Met office, where the girls were treated to a guided tour prior to the competition. Twenty eight teams were invited to the final, representing the top scoring schools from thirteen regional heats. They competed against each other in five grueling rounds of the most challenging maths problems and puzzles. The Badminton girls were the highest scorers in three of the rounds, and second highest in a fourth. This should have been enough to give them victory. Unfortunately the multiple choice round cost them dearly and they finished in second place with 153 points, just two points behind the winners Dean Close. The girls received a set of four popular maths books and a beautiful glass trophy. Congratulations to the team on a splendid performance. Thank you to Alvina (Year 13) for your hard work in helping prepare the girls for the final.
