As part of the Outduction programme, a group of 13 Upper Sixth students have commenced their journey towards The Ivy House Award.
The goal of The Award is to build the confidence and skills they need to step up and take ownership of their lives including the work they choose, the relationships they build, the confidence they have in themselves and the impact they make in the world.
Previously this self-leadership learning was only available to a small percentage of senior executives, but it is now available to 16 to 18-year olds!
At the heart of The Award are The Ivy House 7: human leadership, core strength, 100% ownership, conscious mind, courageous learner, intentional relationships, and proactive wellbeing.
In each session the students are asked to engage in discussion, watch a masterclass, complete an exercise, and reflect on their learning. This week the Upper Sixth students have explored big questions such as ‘what do you want in life?’, ‘what are your key strengths?’, ‘what are your courageous learner habits?’ and ‘where do you stand on the ownership ladder?’
Next week we will be exploring the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, as well as not getting caught up in destructive thinking and getting clarity on our aims and actions.
