Before the Half Term break, girls from the Junior School had the chance to ask their incoming Head, Ms Heidi Pedlar questions to get to know her!

See below for their questions and the excellent note taking of Ms Pedlar’s answers by Heather:

Acorns 1: Rochelle & Evie

Q. What was your favourite subject at school, and why?

A. At Primary school I liked Art, as I really liked getting messy! I like drawing dogs and horses in particular – I still really enjoy Art!

Acorns 2: Hannah

Q. What does the word bravery mean to you?

A. That’s a great question! I think bravery is conquering something you’re not confident in and giving it a good go. I also think it is brave to admit when you have made a mistake.

J3: Alexandra

Q. Why do you want to work at Badminton?

A. I have previously visited Badminton on three separate occasions before I applied to work here. I have been here for various sports events and have always found the staff and girls so friendly and welcoming. The grounds are also lovely and there is so much open space!

Q. What achievement are you the proudest of?

A. I’m proud of lots of things! I really remember having just passed my driving test and needing to go to a few Judo competitions to get my Black Belt. I had to drive all the way across London and back again, and I managed to do it successfully!

J4: Jemima

Q. Why did you want to become a teacher?

A. I liked lots of different subjects, and initially I was only doing sports, but I thought that I liked such a wide variety of things, that I wanted to share my knowledge and enthusiasm by being a teacher.

Q. What do you do for fun?

A. I really like being outdoors, so I go on long walks with my dogs and son. I love the seaside so walking along the beach is lovely. I also like gardening as it’s outside!

J5: Maggie

Q. If you were not a teacher, what would you be doing?

A. My dream was to open an animal sanctuary and have children come to learn about the different animals!

Q. What is a risk you have taken in life?

A. Moving! When I got my first job in Bristol, we had to move. It was a risk because we had to look for a new school and house for my son and he was leaving all his friends behind.

J6: Saani

Q. How do you cope when something goes wrong?

A. I pick myself up and think about what I can do to make it better and learn from it.

Q. Do you have any ideas for new clubs for us to start?

A. What clubs would you like?

Book Club, sewing, knitting, Chess Club, litter-picking, Eco Club, and a Dancing Club!

I did a Soft Toy Club before, and a Fashion Club that was good too!
