This week the refurbished Sixth Form Common Room was unveiled for all. This new bright, modern, multipurpose space provides a positive and fun work and play environment for our Sixth Formers. It has been designed over the last year by Envoplan, with input from both Sixth Form and Year 10 and 11 girls, who chose the colour combinations themselves and fed into the plans.
The whole area is split into zones, for quiet working, coffee breaks with friends, relaxing to watch the television or play Wii – there is something for all. The railway carriage booth has proved to be a particular hit with the girls, as has the larger workbenches for working and relaxing. The new bucket style sofas, seem to be permanently occupied and the seating cubes are moving their way around the room as girls gather together to catch up or work.
As well as the main Common Room, two of the Study Rooms have had a complete make over, with new desks, chairs and locker space, and not to be left out, the terrace area has had some new furniture and a swinging seat – just in time for the sunshine!
