The Junior School Choir triumphed at the Thornbury Eisteddfod this week with a thrilling recital of two choral pieces. In an excellent competition, we were awarded an 'outstanding' certificate by the Adjudicator, Mr David Bruce-Payne and pronounced the winners of the Under 11 choir class out of seven competitors! We stayed on to the afternoon session to listen to the School Orchestra give a poignant rendition of an arrangement of the 'Skye Boat Song' by Mr Thomas before listening to the Under 14 choirs perform. At the end of a tense adjudication we were formally pronounced the 'Best Children's Choir' of the Festival and returned to School with the Joan Hawkins trophy. A great team effort and a real sense of pride as the girls were impeccable ambassadors for the School.
Huge congratulations to all those involved!
Mr Thomas
