Fourth place for Badminton Equestrian Team

On Sunday 24th February, four girls, Iona (Yr 6), Clara (Yr 7), Olivia (Yr 8) and Annie (Yr 8) and their ponies travelled to Millfield Prep School to compete in the JWS (Jumping with Style) competition. In the first class the girls competed against twenty teams and were delighted to finish in fourth place! As well as having to remember a course of nineteen jumps and go clear, they were also judged on their riding style. This is the first time the team has been placed in a JWS competition so well done to all the girls.

In the second class there were also twenty teams competing and as well as the jumps being higher, this class was open to competitors of eighteen years and under whereas the first class was for thirteen years and under. The girls still finished in a very respectable eigth place with Clara just missing out on an individual placing by one point. Placings are to sixth and Clara was seventh out of 87!

This was a brilliant start to the year for the Equestrian Team and we look forward to the next competition. Thanks the Mums for their support: it was so cold they had to wrap themselves in horse rugs!
