Junior School Humanities - History & Geography

The J3s have been learning about the Romans and had the opportunity this week to have a virtual tour and talk from the Caerleon Museum. It was a fabulous opportunity for the girls to find out about life as a soldier in the Roman Army. They learnt all about how to stand and how to march, something the Roman Army did a lot.

“I learnt that the Romans wore different armour than the other armies and if they lost their sword, they had a tiny back up one” - Sherlyn and Alexandra.

“I learnt that the Romans would collect up their earwax and send it to a doctor to be put into medicine” - Ava and Angela.

“I found it really interesting learning about Roman life” - Inaaya and Aarootheraa.

We then learnt about the armour that the Romans would have worn, as well as some of the accessories such as broaches. Did you know that the Romans invented Safety Pins?
