Tourism in J6 Geography

Junior School Humanities - History & Geography

This week in Geography, J6 have been looking at how tourism effects an area. They have been investigating how areas can experience a boom from being a popular tourist destination but can then experience stagnation and decline. They examined Blackpool as a case study and compared pictures of it in its heyday to its decline in the 1990s. The Butler Model shows how a place can be popular and then decline; the girls annotated this model with various pictures of Blackpool to show how it has changed over time.
