Safer Internet Day was founded to promote online safety and cyber awareness. Over 40,000 people have attended online safety sessions, and 5500 new Childnet Digital Leaders have been trained, which is an important step towards achieving better cyber safety for everyone. This year, the theme is ‘trust’ and how to know which sources are reliable and which sources cannot be trusted.
So how can we know which sources to trust?
Make sure to use strong passwords and codes that do not contain personal dates and names, and make sure that you never share your location on the internet. You should also never communicate with someone you do not know or follow links from an email address or mobile number that you do not recognise.
At Badminton, we are doing our best to educate all age groups, by giving assemblies and generally raising awareness throughout the Junior and Senior School. It is especially important to be aware of potential dangers online during this time of online learning.
