Fireworks Display 2017

Whole School Events

The buzz of excitement finally exploded when the clock chimed five thirty last Friday and the Peace Memorial Hall was suddenly bursting with people.

Staff members, parents and students all squeezed through the crowd to enjoy the numerous events set by our Houses. Here and there, children dashed with their faces painted like butterflies by the Badock artists! A Year 7 girl had just triumphed over her Murray opponent after an engaging pillow fight. On the left, a father bent low to "splat the rat", his Burke daughter clapping joyfully. A particularly loud cheer was audible from the direction of the Webb J stall, apparently a mother had just successfully pinned the donkey’s tail. Nearest to the gate, the Young Enterprise Team was creating a dance to advertise their smoothies, with cups bearing their logo in front. A Baker girl with glittering hair and tattoo raised her phone, to commemorate the unforgettable night.

At 18:30pm, the fireworks went off, exploding right over the whole campus. Blue, green, scarlet and gold streams decorated the indigo night sky. In every pupil flashed the same, amazing fireworks. The crowd “woo-ed” and “ah-ed” at the same time.
