Junior School News

Last week, Badminton Junior School were delighted to receive a visit from an organisation called 'Shelterbox', a charity that provides immediate relief in disaster situations. Having raised over £600 for the charity, we were very excited to be shown how our money would be put to good use. Liz, the Shelterbox representative, showed us how the contents of the big green box would contain emergency shelter and other important equipment to allow a family to survive for several months in the event of a disaster. The amount we raised is sufficient to fund an entire box which, being individually numbered, will allow us to track its deployment in any future disaster. Hopefully Liz will make a return visit to show us an erected tent and explain in detail what the equipment is used for. Thanks to all those who kindly donated, allowing us to contribute to this very worthwhile charity.
