Sanderson House is a modern, state-of-the-art Boarding House specially designed to be home for girls in Years 9, 10 and 11 (ages 13 - 16).
The bright, airy rooms sleep three or four girls and are complemented by the ‘Hub’ - a large common room with a quiet room and kitchen nearby. Additional social areas on each floor have floor-to-ceiling windows giving spectacular views across Bristol. There is underfloor heating throughout, Wi-Fi, modern entertainment consoles, games and a very popular table football table.
At weekends, girls are allowed to venture outside School in groups during set times, allowing them the independence they need whilst respecting the boundaries they are given to ensure their safety. The trips and activities planned at weekends are often chosen by the girls and have recently included day trips to the Harry Potter Studios, indoor skiing and snowboarding, London, Bath and Oxford, as well as trips to see productions at Bristol's Theatres, London, Bath and Oxford. Exeat weekends are optional for the girls in Sanderson so that they can either stay in House or return home or to their guardian.
The girls living in Sanderson are split vertically into two Houses (Berkeley and Lynmouth) so that girls can forge friendships across Year Groups. The welfare, happiness and safety of the girls is paramount and both Houses have a Housemistress and a Deputy Housemistress. They also share two Resident Tutors. All these staff members live on site and are specialists in looking after and supporting teenage girls. Sanderson offers a homely atmosphere where the girls can be themselves and enjoy growing up.
