Director of Music Vacancy

We are seeking a strong practical musician and teacher to lead our flourishing music department and maintain and develop the prominence of music within the school.

As well as promoting music at all levels within the school, the successful candidate will be an excellent team leader with the ability to delegate effectively, be calm under pressure, well organised, efficient and able to work effectively and harmoniously with staff, students, parents and the various outside music groups linked to the school.

The Music Department at Badminton School is known locally and internationally as a centre of excellence for music. We aim to offer a wide range of musical experiences to all pupils, regardless of ability or previous experience, to encourage the highest possible standard in performing, composing and listening, and to develop an appreciation of music beyond the confines of styles with which students are already familiar.

Hours: This is a full-time, permanent position.

Salary: Badminton operates its own pay scale. Staff joining Badminton School are assimilated on to the Badminton Scale at a point appropriate to their qualifications and experience and the post to which they are appointed.

The school offers membership of a competitive contributory pension scheme which includes employer contributions of 18.11%, income protection and death in service benefit of 3 times salary.

Starting date: April or September 2024.

Interview date: Thursday 30th November 2023.
