Year 9 have been working on a play for the Bristol Festival of Latin Drama where they had to perform an adapted version of one of the Cambridge Latin Plays. They worked incredibly hard to stage the entire play themselves, putting much effort into the performance, which made it a true wonder to watch.
To fit the area the play was set in the Classics Department transformed SH3 into our very own Roman Inn. Inside was wine, roasted dormice, and gambling games in the form of Ribena, chocolate mice, and gambling games with chocolate money. These games included interesting Roman games such as Knuckle bones, Dice gambling, and Tabula – which is like snakes and ladders.
The pupils in the Classics room had lots of fun and are greatly looking forward to continuing onto Latin GCSE next year.
