Bartlett House is the home for girls in Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 (9-12 years old). Bartlett House has a very cosy, home-from-home atmosphere with rooms accommodating between three and four girls. It has its own common rooms equipped with games, DVD and Wii and is set in the very heart of the school. Younger girls are always escorted whenever they leave the school grounds. In line with our policy of encouraging girls to become increasingly independent Year 8 girls enjoy the short walk to the local high street at weekends to visit the shops and spend their pocket money. Year 8 girls are included in some activities with older boarders.
Guides are allocated to every new girl, helping them with what to do and where to go over the first few weeks. The guides write to new girls over the summer holidays.
In 2008 we opened Sanderson House, a state-of-the-art boarding house designed to be home for boarders in years 9, 10 and 11 (aged 13-16). It offers girls first class facilities in a welcoming and caring environment and includes light and airy bedrooms for three or four with study and IT facilities, under-floor heating, modern entertainment and kitchen.
The Sixth Form Centre
The Sixth Form Centre is home for Year 12 and 13 boarders and offers modern single or twin study bedrooms. Sixth Form day girls have study rooms here and share the recreational facilities during the school day. Situated in a separate building, the Sixth Form Centre is designed to bridge the gap between school and university, so the students have more freedom, privileges and personal responsibility.
